Our first food truck, Smoking Kow BBQ started in 2015, with Kansas City style barbecue. Our restaurant kitchen does not have a freezer. We make all our sides fresh daily and all our meats are smoked daily. We make what we sell for the day and if we sell out early, well, we sell out early.

One summer day, we received a phone call for our food truck to visit The Offices of The Supreme Court in Washington DC. Their cafeteria, that serves over 500 employees, was under renovations and were in need of different food trucks for the week. Smoking Kow BBQ jumped at the opportunity to service all 5 days with different types of foods. Of course we included our signature Kansas City BBQ and then debuted our Italian, Korean and other American dishes. Every day we served hundreds of people for lunch and then launched the same menus to our community via our food trucks.
As our regulars celebrated their lives' milestones with our food, we realized we were part of engagement celebrations, weddings, birthdays, graduations, retirements and company events. Many of our regulars returned to us for catering needs. We once had a couple where we serviced their wedding and then eventually their anniversary. Another family allowed us to cater their son's birthday and then eventually his graduation. A more recent family was one of our favorite regulars where he was the father in law of the guest of honor's retirement party and then we provided catering for his celebration of life when he passed away.
